The client and the digital opportunity
Lucy Attwood Events is a luxury wedding and event planning company serving London, the Cotswolds and Yorkshire. With more than 25 years of experience, it plans and designs bespoke weddings, private celebrations, milestone occasions and corporate gatherings for discerning private and corporate clients.
The website needed to reflect the same discretion, creativity and attention to detail delivered through the company’s service. It also had to help prospective clients understand the offer, explore a carefully curated portfolio and feel confident enough to begin a conversation.
The challenge: express luxury without creating friction
The previous website delivered a poor user experience and did not communicate the brand at the required level. The main challenge was to translate a highly personal, premium service into an elegant digital experience while preserving speed, simplicity and ease of navigation.
THE BIGGEST DESIGN PROBLEM
How do you give rich event photography and premium storytelling enough space to inspire visitors without slowing the website, obscuring services or making the enquiry path difficult to find?
What the experience needed to solve
Modernize the brand image and communicate luxury through a confident, refined interface.
Showcase a curated portfolio without overwhelming visitors or separating inspiration from the company’s services.
Simplify navigation so users can understand the offer and reach relevant pages with less effort.
Create a clear journey from discovery and trust-building to a qualified enquiry.
Deliver consistent usability across mobile, tablet and desktop screens.
Give the client manageable WordPress tools for content, galleries, testimonials and event showcases.
Build performance, Core Web Vitals and SEO into the website foundation.
Our approach: audit, structure, design and build
Inboundsys treated the engagement as one connected UX, WordPress, performance and conversion project. The website audit and SEO audit established the priorities; responsive design, a consistent design system and reusable templates turned those priorities into a scalable solution.
1. Audit the existing experience
Reviewed the website from the perspective of prospective wedding, private-event and corporate clients.
Identified friction in navigation, content organization, portfolio discovery and the route to enquiry.
Used the SEO audit to shape clearer page purposes, metadata and search-friendly structures.
2. Reframe the information architecture
Created logical destinations for the brand story, services, portfolio content, campaigns and resources.
Connected visual inspiration with relevant service information and visible next steps.
Reduced the effort required to move from learning about the company to submitting an enquiry.
3. Establish a restrained luxury design system
Used clear hierarchy, disciplined spacing, refined typography and custom icons to express premium positioning.
Balanced event imagery with concise service messaging, navigation and calls to action.
Designed responsive behavior into reusable components from the beginning.
How we built the WordPress website
The solution used a custom WordPress theme, responsive front-end development and custom page templates. Instead of treating every page as a one-off design, Inboundsys created repeatable sections and structures that preserve brand consistency while giving the client practical control over ongoing content updates.
Reusable architecture adopted
Custom templates for repeatable page structures and consistent presentation.
Reusable sections for services, imagery, testimonials, resources and conversion prompts.
SEO-friendly page structures and metadata-ready content patterns.
A manageable CMS experience for galleries, testimonials, event showcases and editorial content.
Responsive rules that carry the same hierarchy and behavior into future pages.

Performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
Image-rich luxury websites can become slow and visually unstable when performance is addressed only after design. Inboundsys incorporated image optimization, code minification, mobile optimization and Core Web Vitals work into the implementation so visual impact and efficient delivery could coexist.
Optimization methods adopted
Optimized portfolio and event imagery to reduce unnecessary download weight while protecting visual quality.
Minified front-end code to remove avoidable file weight delivered to the browser.
Used a custom theme and reusable templates to keep the implementation focused and consistent.
Optimized layouts, media and interactions for mobile screens and variable connection speeds.
Applied clear content hierarchy so visitors can reach meaningful information sooner.
Completed responsive and browser testing before delivery, followed by post-launch support.
How this supports Google Core Web Vitals
Largest Contentful Paint (LCP):
optimized imagery and leaner front-end delivery help important visual and textual content appear sooner.
Interaction to Next Paint (INP):
focused components, clear navigation and straightforward forms help interactions respond predictably.
Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS):
consistent templates and responsive component rules help content retain a stable layout while loading.
MEASUREMENT NOTE
The project record confirms improved Core Web Vitals and mobile usability, but no verified before-and-after scores were supplied. Results are therefore stated qualitatively without inventing numerical claims.
Responsive design: one premium journey on every screen
Responsive design was a core project activity, not a final stage resize. Prospective clients may discover the company through search, social content, referrals or inspiration while using a phone, then return on another device. The experience therefore needed to remain coherent at every screen size.
Responsive decisions that improved usability
Layouts adapt deliberately to mobile, tablet and desktop rather than compressing a desktop-only composition.
Typography and content hierarchy reveal the most useful information quickly on smaller screens.
Portfolio imagery retains emotional impact without dominating the page or obscuring the next action.
Navigation calls to action and enquiry forms remain visible, understandable and easy to use.
Reusable responsive sections create consistent behavior across services, galleries, landing pages and resources.
The completed website went through responsive testing and browser testing. This supported the recorded outcome of improved mobile usability and helped ensure that the premium brand experience remained practical, not merely attractive.
How the website was built to generate leads
The commercial purpose of the website is to attract the right prospective clients and turn interest into qualified enquiries. Lead generation was therefore woven throughout the experience rather than isolated on a contact page.
CONVERSION PRINCIPLE
Inspire first, clarify the service, establish credibility and then present a visible, low-friction route to enquiry.
Conversion methods built into the experience
Service pages help visitors recognize the planning or celebration support relevant to them.
Curated portfolio presentation provides visual proof and strengthens confidence in the company’s creative standard.
The About page communicates more than 25 years of experience and the personal credibility essential to a high-trust engagement.
Landing pages give campaigns and specific offers focused destinations with a defined next step.
Calls to action create visible opportunities to move from browsing to conversation.
Forms capture interest, while responsive behavior makes completion practical on mobile devices.
Blog, resource and search features create additional routes for discovery and engagement.
Together, these elements create a natural journey: discover the brand, understand the service, review relevant work, build trust and enquire. The supplied record confirms increased visitor engagement and a stronger platform for attracting high-value enquiries; it does not provide a verified conversion percentage.
SEO foundations for sustainable discovery
Search visibility was supported through both strategic and technical work. The project included an SEO audit, meta titles and descriptions, SEO-friendly page structures, image optimization, mobile optimization and SEO testing.
Dedicated service and landing pages create clearer topical destinations for visitors and search engines.
Meta titles and descriptions improve how important pages can be understood and presented in search results.
Optimized images and mobile-friendly delivery reinforce the overall page experience.
Reusable templates help retain consistent structure as new content is published.
Blog and resource patterns provide a scalable foundation for useful, discoverable content.
Quality assurance and delivery
The project moved through a structured delivery cycle covering interface design, development, migration, validation, client review and launch continuity.
